Board & Policies

Our Board of Trustees is entrusted with the education of over 17,000 students residing in the communities of the Airdrie, Bearspaw, Beiseker, Bragg Creek, Chestermere, Cochrane, Crossfield, Indus, Irricana, Kathyrn, Langdon, Redwood Meadows and Springbank.  Seven members are elected every three years during municipal elections to represent six urban and rural wards.

Our Trustees are advocates for children, with their first and greatest concern the welfare of each and every child. As educational stewards, Trustees recognize that the future welfare of our area depends, to a large degree, upon the quality of education the Board provides in our public schools to fit the needs of individual learners.

Open Door Policy

Trustees take very seriously their stewardship role in representing Rocky View students and communities. The Board’s approach to governance is to cultivate an environment that promotes open dialogue and participation.

The Board’s primary responsibilities are to set directions, allocate resources, monitor, evaluate and report student and organizational progress and achievements.
