2012 Skills Canada Alberta Information
You and your students are invited to attend the many technology and trade programs this year including the Regional Skills Canada Competitions; the Provincial Skills Canada Competition; School tours of Skill City and Try a Trade; the valuable Girls Exploring Trades and Technology Conference as well as PL opportunities for teachers on Provincial Technical Committees. Schools are encouraged to register as a Skills School to receive information on lastest programs, events, scholarships and funding opportunities.
In celebration of the 20th Anniversary, Skills Canada Alberta is pleased to host, in addition to the regional and provincial competitions, the 2012 Skills Canada National Competition, May 14-15, 2012 in Edmonton.
Schools are invited to attend the following technology and trade programs:
- 9 Regional Skills Canada Competitions, located across the province
- Provincial Skills Canada Competition, May 10-11, 2012 showcasing over 40 events ranging from Robotics to Computer Animation, and Culinary Arts to Carpentry, and new in 2012 - Photography.
- School tours of Skill City featuring dozens of Try a Trade interactive demonstrations on May 10-11 or 14-15, 2012 at the Edmonton Expo Centre
- The valuable Girls Exploring Trades and Technology Conference May 11, 2012
- Professional development opportunities for teachers on our Provincial Technical Committees
