Understanding Mental Health, learning, the school system, raising children, can be difficult at the best of times. Attending the below seminars will assist you in growing strong as a parent. These sessions are open to all parents no matter the school your children attend.

Upcoming Sessions

Hannah’s Hope AAC Camp (September 27 – 29, 2018)
This camp focuses on literacy and communication skills. A personal learning platform is provided, that enables the families to communicate with their children. This is a weekend for families and professionals to interact. The bonds that the families and educators create is an everlasting support system. The families are from the Angelman Syndrome Community in Alberta. Professionals include teams/supports for these specific families and others that are interested.
Camp Independence (July 23 – 27, 2018)
Camp Independence is a camp for 12 to 15 year olds with physical disabilities and who are followed by a clinic at Alberta Children’s Hospital. The camp will build various pertinent life skills, including an introduction to community mobility and navigation skills using the transit system, recreation, cooking, nutrition, money management, medical self-management, and pre-employment skills.
Alberta Health Services Parent Sessions for the Year
These sessions are both in person and online. These are held in our schools, Children's Hospital and some places in Calgary.
How to Successfully Build Resilience in Children and Youth
Ralph McCall Elementary School Wednesday April 18th, 2018, 6:30pm - 8:30pm This presentation is suitable for anyone wanting to learn how to foster resiliency in children and youth. This presentation explains resiliency, the benefits, the risk factors, and how to build resilient children and youth.
