The time is fast approaching for residents of Rocky View Schools to decide who will shape and direct local education for the next three years. Elections for school trustees take place October 18, 2010.
Having strong candidates in the upcoming election is critical because school boards make decisions about how education is delivered locally. School board policies directly impact the development of children and affect community interests. Check out RVS' 2010 Candidate Information Package / Forms. This package also is available at Rocky View Schools' Education Centre and at Municipal Offices throughout the jurisdiction after July 20, 2010.
Why not consider running for a seat on Rocky View Schools’ Board? The Board of Trustees is accountable for the education of almost 17,000 students residing in Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere and Rocky View County. Seven members are elected every three years during municipal elections to represent six urban and rural wards (Electoral Ward Map ). Positions available are:

Nominations for the election of candidates for the all offices must be submitted between the hours of 10:00 am and 12:00 noon on September 20, 2010 at Rocky View's Education Centre at 2651 Chinook Winds Dr. SW, Airdrie.
