Curriculum Redesign
In a follow up to Inspiring Education, Alberta Education hosted a series of Curriculum Research Roundtables in Spring 2011 that led to the release of the Framework for Student Learning: Competencies for Engaged Thinkers and Ethical Citizens with an Entrepreneurial Spirit. This document builds on the directions set out by Inspiring Education and international research. Through Curriculum Redesign, Alberta Education is exploring new ways of working and learning together with education partners and stakeholders. Be on the lookout for ways to get involved this school year and provide input on Guiding Principles, Standards and Guidelines for Curriculum Development, on Literacy, Numeracy and Competency Indicators, Provincial Assessment, etc.
Progress! High School Completion Resource
Progress! reflects the commitments of schools and other partners to the work of increasing high school completion. It includes valuable resources, including videos and discussion guides, that can be used by schools across the province to inform their work in increasing high school completion.
