What is School Dude?

School Dude is an online scheduling tool used to capture and communicate community use of RVS facilities, after school hours (6 pm – 10 pm, M-F).

The benefit of this system is that it allows schools, community program providers, and associated organizers to view a consolidated, online calendar. The calendar will show scheduled activities and clearly identify events to improve communication, streamline the approval process, and prevent coordinating conflicts. School Dude is funded through a grant provided by Upstart, which aims to increase opportunities for children and youth to participate in Critical Hours Programming (2012 Final Report).

How does it work?

Individuals and/or groups within the RVS communities must contact the Booking Agent for their respective area to request the use of RVS facilities. Booking Agent contact information is listed below.

The Booking Agent will require pertinent information: a designated contact person, contact information, and completed forms RV103 & RV124 (available under Resources). He or she will then contact the organization and, if the community use request is approved, will provide a password to access online requests. (Note: the password can be changed online). When the online access is set up, a notification will be sent to the organization's email address. The organization can then click on the School Dude Request Website's top right corner to log-in.

Process

1.		Community group contacts Booking Agent directly with request for online access
2.		Once approved, organization enters its own schedules into the School Dude Request Website
3.		Booking Agent must approve each schedule
4.		Principal receives notification of schedule, and approves it
5.		Booking Agent activates schedule, appears on Calendar
6.		Contact person for organization receives confirmation of approval or denial
