Connecting Student Leaders to Their Passion

The Rocky View Leadership Academy (RVLA) is a full-year, five-credit course that connects Gr. 10 – 12 student leaders to each other and their communities. Students learn not only to become people of influence but to develop the necessary tools to continue their leadership journey throughout their lives.

Students Embark Upon their Leadership Journey!

On Sept. 13, 2019, 65 students met at RVS' Education Centre to participate in this year’s first RVLA workshop. Representing seven RVS high schools and spanning all three years of the program, the students came together to kick off this year’s leadership journey with a goal of establishing connections with one another.

Designed with intention to connect students from across the jurisdiction, these monthly workshops are aimed at helping students develop servant leadership capacities in a variety of contexts, including at school, at home, at work, in athletics or in any other organizations of which they are a part of. These workshops bring students together to explore the most recent academic research on leadership and organizational culture, hear from actively practicing real-world leaders or participate in field visits. Students also have the opportunity to discuss their recent projects with peers and receive feedback on their current leadership endeavours.

Students interested in joining the RVLA can contact their guidance counsellor.
