Delivering Hope and Changing Hearts

Stephen's Backpacks Society for Children in Need is an Airdrie-based charity focused on ending family homelessness in Southern Alberta and across the nation. Through its initiative Project Footprints, the Society donated $1,000 in Ardene gift cards to purchase shoes for children in need within Rocky View Schools.

Giving Families Hope, One Child at a Time

As a young boy, George McDougall High alumnus Stephen McPhee had a vision to end homelessness. Together with his parents, Stephen founded Stephen's Backpacks Society in 2006 to raise awareness about homelessness and give hope to families in need across Southern Alberta.

Now the President of the charity, Stephen came back to visit Rocky View Schools (RVS) to present a donation of $1,000 in Ardene gift cards to purchase shoes for students in need within the jurisdiction. Project Footprints, one of the Society's initiatives, ensures proper footwear for children in need.

Stephen's Backpacks Society for Children in Need is about more than just backpacks - it's about hope and supporting families in need across Southern Alberta. Through generous donations from the local community and corporations worldwide, the Society has successfully supported over 30 families out of homelessness.
