2014 Attendance Area Changes
Airdrie and Chestermere families will want to note new attendance area boundaries will come into effect in September 2014 to accommodate three new schools!
Alberta Blue Cross-Healthy Communities Grant Program
Application Deadline: September 30th annually - In the interest of promoting wellness and active living, Alberta Blue Cross has launched the Healthy Communities grant program. Through this program, Alberta Blue Cross will invest $1 million, over the next five-year period, to support and promote active living in communities across Alberta.
2013 Diploma Exam Exemptions
Due to the June 2013 Flood, Grade 12 students in Springbank and Cochrane were automatically exempt from writing Diploma Exams. All other high school students are required to apply to Alberta Education.
Helping Children Cope
Schools and communities are often impacted by loss of life. The effects may be significant for some people because of their emotional closeness to the deceased. How school personnel and parents handle the resulting distress can help shape the immediate and longer-term grieving process for students, staff, and families. Children, in particular, will need the love and support of their teachers and parents to cope with their loss and reach constructive grief resolution.
Teen Mentoring Program in Airdrie
Big Brothers Big Sisters' Teen Mentoring program in Airdrie is seeking to collaborate with one or two elementary schools in the 2013/ 2014 school year. BBBS Airdrie is aiming to grow their program and provide more mentorship opportunities for Airdrie's young people.

Citizenship In Action - CEPF
Application Deadline: November 29th, 2013 & February 28th, 2014- Citizenship In Action - Empowering Youth Leaders is an innovative educational initiative intended to encourage youth in Grades 4 through 12 within the Calgary Educational Partnership Foundation's (CEPF) six partner school districts to move beyond having an awareness of what citizenship is, to taking ownership for planning and implementing initiatives as responsible and contributing citizens. The goal is for students to undertake citizenship projects that will make positive and sustainable changes within their school or community.

Application Deadline: June 1st annually - Breakfast for Learning is committed to helping start and sustain child nutrition programs, ensuring that students are well-nourished and ready to learn.
Bow Valley College (Airdrie) - Career Transitions Program
The Airdrie Career Transitions Program is a fully government funded program designed to help adult learners get the skills they need to gain meaningful employment. This program is open to unemployed residents of Airdrie and surrounding area and is 4-6 months in length depending on individual needs.
