An Evening of Hope
RVS Guest Author: Taylor B., Grade 11 Student - On Apr. 26, 2013, Bow Valley High School’s Leadership Team put on its 6th annual Evening of Hope. The Evening of Hope is a charity gala held at our school each year. The evening consisted of a guest speaker, musical performances, a student fashion show, fun money casino, raffle, and silent auction.

AAMDC Scholarship Program
Application Deadline: August 2013 - The AAMDC Scholarship Program is designed to encourage young rural Albertans to pursue further education, and thereby enhance the ability of these young people to make meaningful contributions to their communities in subsequent years. Through the Scholarship Program, the AAMDC provides funding assistance to five rural students each year (one student in each of the five AAMDC geographic districts).

Rocky View Schools Healthy Eating Initiative - Final Report The Rocky View Schools Healthy Eating Initiative began as a three-year partnership project between Rocky View Schools (RVS) and Alberta Health Services (AHS) from April 2006 to March 2009. A transition year from April 2009 to June 2010 was added to further support implementation. The project goal was to support success in students by promoting healthy eating environments in schools through an integrated infrastructure of people and resources, making healthy food choices the easy choice. Comprehensive School Health (CSH) and system model approaches were used to develop and implement healthy eating guidelines.

Alberta Eco Trust Environmental Grants
Application Deadline: April 15th and October 15th, 2013: This program is designed to support community-based projects that typically focus on local opportunities for change through stewardship and action. These projects must be completed in one year.

File Bow Valley College (Airdrie) - Career Transitions Program
The Airdrie Career Transitions Program is a fully government funded program designed to help adult learners get the skills they need to gain meaningful employment. This program is open to unemployed residents of Airdrie and surrounding area and is 4-6 months in length depending on individual needs.
RVS School Council Annual Orientation Session
Calling all school council members! RVS will host its annual School Council Orientation June 20, 2013, from 5:30 to 9 pm at the Education Centre in Airdrie. Enriching learning experiences through instructional design
To build teachers' capacity in effective instructional design, Rocky View Schools has created an Instructional Design Planning Framework that is focused on authentic inquiry-based learning. Currently being piloted in 12 schools, this framework has proven to successfully engage and challenge learners through meaningful, constructivist-inspired learning practices.
