About the organization

Airdrie Food BankThe Airdrie Food Bank provides short term emergency food support to adults, children and families in need. In addition to collecting food and funds from the community and distributing food as needed through its many programs, the Food Bank also provides a variety of other services:

  • Regular Hampers - 7 to 10 days worth of food containing all food groups including meat, dairy, and produce.
  • Bread & Extras - food items available to anyone in need any time during our regular office hours.
  • Emergency Packs - one day's worth of food that doesn’t need preparation; distributed by local agencies, churches, and the Airdrie Food Bank.
  • Best Beginnings Hampers - for expecting moms and their families; operates in partnership with Alberta Health Service and Community Links.
  • Milk and Formula for New Moms - support for moms and their new babies; operates in partnership with Alberta Health Service.
  • Snack Attack - emergency snack, breakfast, and/or lunch food items provided to any school in Airdrie and surrounding area.
  • R.J. Hawkey Breakfast Program - breakfast served to children ages 5 - 10 every school day.
  • School Partnership programs – to help build students’ understanding of social issues such as poverty and hunger. RVS schools can sign up for the G.E.A.R. program to run a food drive successfully.

The Airdrie Food Bank serves individuals/families from Airdrie, Crossfield, Balzac, Beiseker, Madden, and surrounding areas.

How do you access services?

For Food hampers, emergency packs, or other food items, please contact the Airdrie Food Bank. New and expectant mother must be referred by Alberta Health Services' Health Unit. Schools interested in participating in the Snack Attack, Breakfast Program, School Partnership, or G.E.A.R program can contact the Airdrie Food Bank directly.
