Gifted

In Rocky View Schools, students who are gifted in cognitive and academic areas require a differentiated program to meet their individual learning goals.

Differentiation is consistently embedded within the students’ daily program.

Learners are gifted when they perform or show potential for performing at significantly high levels of accomplishments in learning rate, depth of knowledge, and reasoning and problem solving abilities when compared with others of their age, experience and environment.

There is a difference between being bright and being gifted, and it has to do with the degree of a child’s ability and talent. Consider the profile illustrated on the following chart.
