Building the Power to Enrich - Year 4

A 21st C Learning & Teaching Lighthouse

As the fifth largest school jurisdiction in Alberta, Rocky View Schools has become a lighthouse for 21st C learning and teaching in Alberta. We believe our success lies with the strong spirit of engagement we have nurtured, and the innovative and creative approaches we have employed in meeting the unique needs of all learners.

In this fourth year of our 2011 – 2015 Four Year Plan, we recognize that in order to sustain our positive results, we have to reinforce the value of building caring and compassionate relationships among students, staff, parents, and the community. We also need to consolidate the major initiatives brought on board through this plan, bringing them to a successful implementation and solidifying their sustainability going forward.

Over the next 12 months, we will continue to employ strategies that focus on student-centered learning, flexible, accessible tools and spaces, and targeted learning supports. Schools across the jurisdiction also will work to extend their reach by creating networks of support aimed at lifting our learners up to new heights to become beacons of our success.

We invite you to help RVS continue on its journey to build the “Power to Enrich” by reading through and becoming familiar with our fourth "digital" 2011 - 2015 Four Year Plan - Year Four. An abbreviated, paper version of the plan will be distributed to school councils, staff, and educational and municipal partners in the fall. It also will be available through RVS' Education Centre at 2651 Chinook Winds Drive, SW, Airdrie.
