Quote from a Parent Advocate
“EAMS never stops thinking of ways to engage the kids. They constantly think ‘outside the box’ to find new ways for kids to explore and discover their talents.” CP
“This is a warm and caring school that reaches out to every kid as an individual. The kids, in turn, reach out to the community. They’re involved with the community in so many ways.” JA
How do we define success for École Airdrie Middle students?
Success at EAMS is realized through our Recognition Awards Assemblies, Principal’s Awards, Improvement Pins, Order of Merit and “Gotcha doing something good” awards. Our students set high standards for themselves, and speak with pride in our school and in their accomplishments. EAMS students also are successful when they move on to High School programs well equipped with an academic and a social/emotional repertoire of skills to carry them through their senior high years. Finally, our students are successful when they present themselves as ambassadors of the school in the larger community.
What makes our school good and how do we know?
EAMS is a school committed to excellence. In the May 2012 APORI report, EAMS achieved ‘excellence’ in five categories: Safe and Caring, Program of Studies, Excellence in PAT scores, and Citizenship and School Improvement. We achieved ‘good’ ratings in Education Quality, PAT acceptable achievement, and Parental Involvement. Compared to other Alberta schools, EAMS is a high achieving school.
