Quotes from Parent Advocates
“Bert Church High School ensures that each student is given the best educational experience they can, through a strong academic program that includes a variety of options, including the arts, sports, and other extracurricular activities. All students are presented with the opportunities to strive for excellence and are strongly encouraged to experience all they can to achieve their best.” Phyllis M.H.
“The foundation of Bert Church High School in my opinion has been to provide students with an environment to gain knowledge that they will carry with them as they move onto post-secondary studies or into the work place. This has been accomplished and so much more. Although the school has grown dramatically in terms of numbers of students, its sense of community has not changed. The personal connection the teachers make with the students is invaluable and has pushed my children to reach for goals they thought were unattainable. The high school experience for my children has been outstanding at Bert Church.” Terry F.

How do we define success for Bert Church students?
Success for our students is defined in multiple ways. It is students setting goals and achieving them. It is students gaining confidence in their own abilities and their willingness to challenge themselves to engage in new learning. It is students participating in their community, within the school and outside of it. Success is students showing resiliency, extending beyond their current levels of achievement to develop social, academic, and personal skills. It is meeting the expectations of the school and themselves, and then moving beyond that to become contributors to society.
What makes our school good and how do we know?
Bert Church High School is a great school. It offers a wide array of curricular and extra-curricular opportunities for all of our learners. Our students possess strong work ethics and a desire to succeed. As dedicated professionals we are deeply committed to our learners and our learning. Our community and School Council are tremendous supporters of our school and our work. At the heart of all we do are the positive relationships that are developed amongst staff, students and the community to ensure lifelong success for the students we serve.
