Quotes from Parent Advocates

When students are away on school trips, field trips, sporting events, etc., they conduct themselves responsibly and represent Bert Church with pride. We receive positive feedback from the community regarding our students. Meeting alumni and learning that they have moved forward with their chosen professions knowing they received what they needed at the high school level to do so. Tanya

“The staff at Bert Church gives up a lot of their own time for extra curricular activities, and to help students to ensure students succeed on their exams and in all their classes. There is a high level of respect between all staff members and students. Brenda

How do we define success for Bert Church students?

Success for our students is defined in multiple ways. It is students setting goals and achieving them. It is students gaining confidence in their own abilities and their willingness to challenge themselves to engage in new learning. It is students participating in their community, within the school and outside of it. Success is
students showing resiliency, extending beyond their current levels of achievement to develop more socially, academically and personally. It is meeting the expectations of the school and themselves, and then moving beyond that to become contributors to society.

What makes our school good and how do we know?

Bert Church High School is a great school. It offers a wide array of curricular and extra-curricular opportunities for all of our learners. Our students possess a strong work ethic and desire to succeed. As dedicated professionals we are deeply committed to our learners and our learning. Our community and School Council are tremendous supporters of our school and our work. At the heart of all we do are the positive relationships that are developed amongst staff, students and the community to ensure lifelong success for the students we serve.
