Quotes from Parent Advocates

“I admire the professionalism the staff show toward the students and the students toward the staff. Also, this building presents as a safe, clean, and inviting place to learn. This is a very caring environment for all.”

“The expectations for participating in the Bert Church community of learners is well communicated to students. There is overwhelming support from teachers to enable each child to achieve his or her goals. A positive learning environment exists. There is a great relationship between home and school through parent/teacher interviews, activities, and clubs.”

How do we define success for Bert Church students?

We measure our students success through the school's results on diploma exams, the Accountability Pillar survey, the drop-out rate, the attendance rate, the three year high school completion rate, the number of credits achieved, and the number of out of attendance area requests. We also look to the level of respect shared among members of our school community, the level of student involvement in extra curricular activities, the level of success achieved in these activities, the diversity of programs offered to meet student needs, and the opportunities provided for students to become involved in the greater school community.

What makes our school good and how do we know?

Bert Church enjoys a positive reputation in the RVS community. We know we are a good school because a wide variety of people tell us that it is, including students, parents, visitors, trustees, community members, family members from afar attending school events, those new to the school community, and those desiring to become members of the Bert Church School community. But beyond this, Bert Church is a good school because of the competent and dedicated staff members who invest time and energy in doing their best for students.
