Quotes for Parent Advocates

Being a parent volunteer at Chestermere Lake Middle School was a very rewarding experience.  I have meet new friends and discovered how much volunteers are valued and appreciated by all the staff and students.  Being a parent volunteer has also given me the opportunity to stay more involved in my children''s education.

Chestermere Lake  Middle School is a welcoming, safe and  healthy learning environment!

How do we define success for Chestermere Middle students?

Success for our students is based on individual growth and progress. A culture of excellence allows us to celebrate each student’s best. For some, that may be academic success. For others, it is excelling in sports, music, drama, cooking, woodworking or another area of interest and strength. We believe in celebrating excellence and acknowledge it through our “Win Its” program http://coylegreerstore.com/winits/. This program takes the competition out of the learning environment, and focuses on individual excellence.

What makes our school good and how do we know?

  • Learning that is relevant, challenging, integrative, and exploratory.
  • Multiple learning and teaching approaches that respond to the diversity of our learners.
  • Assessment and evaluation practices that promote quality learning.
  • Organizational structures that support meaningful relationships and learning.
  • School-wide efforts and policies that foster health, wellness, and safety.
  • Dedicated and professional staff.
  • Extensive offering of clubs, extra curricular activities and sport opportunities.
  • Supportive and active parent council and parent volunteers.
  • Survey satisfaction results over time.
