Quote from a Parent Advocate
“One of the things we like best about École Edwards is how they bring real life events, such as the earthquake in Japan, into the classroom and teach children about caring and compassion and that their help can truly make a difference!”
“What makes Edwards great is the dedicated staff, fabulous music program, enthusiastic librarian, innovative and fearless administrators, and exceptional students. Our school provides a strong foundation in language arts and math, not just the glitz and fluffiness that is sometimes put on to get attention.”

How do we define success for our students?
Beginning with the end in mind, we want the learners of Edwards to be the leaders of tomorrow. At École Edwards, students come to us ready to find the leader in themselves. They leave us equipped with the tools to be leaders for life. Success for our learners is defined by their ability to reach their own personal excellence. It means that teachers help our young leaders to know themselves as learners and meet them where they need to be met on the learning continuum. Success means that our 21st Century learners are actively engaged in their learning and parents/guardians are meaningfully connected to our school. We know that through differentiated teaching practices, regular infusion of technology, and intentional focus and direct instruction on all forms of literacy, mixed with a real sense of excitement and curiosity, our students can be successful.
What makes our school good and how do we know?
École Edwards Elementary is an exceptional school with dedicated staff, students and parents. Our new vision “ Together we … Learn, Succeed, Lead” encompasses our belief in how we make this happen.
Together we learn: As a dual track school we offer choice to parents. Our staff is committed to providing quality programs that meet the needs of all of our learners. Continuous growth and improvement as shown in provincial, divisional and school surveys, creates an environment for excellence.
Together we succeed: As 21st Century leaders and learners, we adapt to our changing world. We embrace new ways of teaching and learning to meet our student’s needs. We celebrate our accomplishments.
Together we lead: Leader In Me is a new initiative that has been incorporated into our school community. The 7 Habits have begun to permeate all aspects of daily school life. Teachers and parents are beginning to see changes and comment on how our students are becoming more confident, more respectful and more self-reliant.
Together we reflect: In order to know we are good and on the continuous path to excellence, we analyze and reflect on the data from our Provincial Achievement Tests, from our Accountability Pillar results, from our Rocky View surveys and from school based surveys. We report this in our School Annual Results Report and more.
