Quotes from Parent Advocates
“I have had nothing but positive experiences in nearly ten years of
association with the Airdrie Learning Connection. All of the teachers
and staff show a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure success
for every student. I have had excellent teachers committed to connecting
with their students on a personal level – perhaps because nothing is
taken for granted when we don’t meet in‐person every day, they always expend the extra effort to create the
optimal learning environment. Valuable for the typical student, this
format also provides opportunities to continue education for learners in
a variety of challenging circumstances, from illness to advanced
athletics and more. If there is one drawback to this form of schooling,
it is that the technology cannot be invented or refined as quickly as
teachers and students can determine what applications would improve
their educational experience. But we are restricted by availability of
technology less and less every year and I have seen great changes even
in my relatively short time with the school. As when I started, I still
believe that it represents the future of education.”

How do we define success for RVS Community Learning Centre students?
Success means different things to each member of our community of learners. We celebrate small steps towards reaching educational and personal goals. As our programs are individualized and flexible, students are able to learn at their own pace in a safe and encouraging environment. The Identification of barriers to learning is an essential component of the learning process and a key to success.
What makes our school good and how do we know?
Our ability to personalize programs to meet student needs, utilize a variety of learning technologies and to build a positive educational experience for our learners makes our school a great place to learn, teach and grow. Our growing school community continues to collaborate, celebrate successes and use creativity to bring programs to students.
