2011-2014 — School Education Plan

Quotes from Parent Advocates

The foundation of Ralph McCall School has always been about providing a safe caring environment where children from K — 8 can learn and grow. Although the school has grown dramatically in terms of numbers of students, its sense of community has not changed. We strive to involve parents in all aspects of the education process and endeavor to utilize school based decision making wherever possible. This thinking outside the box has provided the opportunity for a number of unique programs (recognition evenings/recreational programs) that our students have benefited from over the years. R.H.

“Ralph McCall School - where my children were taught much more than academics, where they learned invaluable life skills that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. A place we are proud to have been a part of for eight WONDERFUL years.” N.A.

How do we define success for Ralph McCall students?

While academic performance is a measure of student success, success is more than standardized tests and report card averages. Success is the result of a student’s ongoing commitment to learning and achieving one’s potential. Integrity, cooperation, and altruism are essential to our definition of students as successful citizens. When we speak of student success at Ralph McCall, we believe that fine arts and student responsibility in the form of respect for self, others, and the environment are also essential components of any definition of student success.

What makes our school good and how do we know?

It is the people of Ralph McCall that make us a great school. We have a quality staff who are committed to meeting the challenges of educating the 21st Century learner. We are determined to deliver the curriculum in engaging, meaningful ways, while at the same time encouraging the development of warm, caring, and empathetic relationships within the school community. The community supports our school and realizes the importance the school has in developing contributing, socially responsible citizens. Ralph McCall provides a safe, caring, supportive learning environment and it is the people of our school that make this possible.
