Quotes from Parent Advocates
"My son W. transferred from the Calgary Science and Technology School to W.G. Murdoch School in Crossfield. It is here that W. experienced Public Education for the first time. He is currently in the process of completing his Grade 9 year and can now reflect back with great fondness and appreciation of what public schooling has to offer. W.’s experience at W.G. Murdoch School has far surpassed any expectations that both he and I had of the school! Immediately, W. became involved in the many activities and sports programs offered at the school. He is a member of student council, and with a strong background in technology, he became a welcomed addition to the school. With regard to his academics, W. has been on honor roll for each reporting period. He feels that this success can be credited to the support from both the faculty and from his peers. W.’s desire to get involved coupled with endless learning opportunities, has made W.G. Murdoch a gift to both W. and I. Thank you."
"I am a past graduate of W.G. Murdoch School. In addition, my two oldest sons are currently enrolled at the school, and my third will start attending in the fall of 2011. Over the past two years, I have had the opportunity to get to know most of the staff and administration. During this time, the staff has exhibited care and concern for not only my children’s education, for their but personal well being and growth into young men. Many times teachers have extended extra academic help before, during and after school. With this excellent support, both sons have been able to achieve and maintain honor roll. The office and administrative staff are always helpful when approached and the few discipline matters that have risen with my boys have been handled firmly, but fairly, with morals and virtues as the focus. The programs at our school are very well run and instructed. I am amazed at the opportunity for travel, sports and other areas where our students can be challenged. I am very pleased how my sons have excelled personally and academically in the safe, close knit community of W.G. Murdoch School.”
