Help Desk Software to be Implemented
- A TSMS will be implemented in all schools/locations by September 2012 to help track and manage all technology repair requests. Existing technology support personnel will access the system to find tickets, complete repairs and notify who ever submitted the request when issue is resolved.

- Breaking news - at precisely 7:14 am on February 2, 2012, Rocky Raccoon stepped outside and did not see his shadow! Other groundhogs across the country also failed to see their shadows, giving Canadians hope that we can expect an early spring.The news was less pleasant for neighbours south of the border however, as Punxsutawney Phil did see his shadow.

Calling for CDA Professional Learning Committee Members
- The Learning Department is looking for interested parties to join a committee to develop further the role of the Child Development Advisor (CDA). There will also be a wide consultation with Administrators, Teachers, Guidance Counsellors, Students, Parents, and Community Partners if you would like to provide input to the committee. The first meeting will take place at the Education Centre on Feb. 15, 2012 8:30-10:30.

2012 Second Languages Matter! Best Practices Day
- This will be the largest gathering of second language educators in the province with sessions for all second languages, all programs and all levels. Grades 5-8: National Student Banner Contest 2012
- The National Capital Commission (NCC), in partnership with Classroom Connections, is running an amazing cross-Canada contest and public art project. Students in Grades 5 through 8 are being asked to create and submit a one-of-a-kind banner design to the “Raise Your Voices!” National Student Banner Contest. The design should represent an issue or topic of importance to Canadian youth. Submission deadline is February 17, 2012.

- New online material will help teachers and students to better appreciate and understand the contributions of Alberta’s First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) peoples. This information, Walking Together: First Nations, Métis and Inuit Perspectives in Curriculum, was developed by education experts, elders and respected knowledge keepers from FNMI peoples within the province.
