These are unprecedented times for Rocky View Schools and all school boards across the province; we want to assure you that our jurisdiction will take a thoughtful and responsive approach to plan the continuity of learning for students and services to our families.

Rocky View Schools recognizes that its families and staff have many questions. Questions about the reimbursement of fees, timelines around when/how students will be allowed to collect their personal items from school, how learning will take place, how diploma exams will be coordinated.  Answers to these questions will be forthcoming in the coming days, with all details of our plan communicated through this online repository.

Public Board Meetings to be Held Virtually
In response to the recent social distancing guidelines, all public Board meetings (including Apr. 2, 2020) will be held virtually, until further notice.
Rocky View Schools Releases Learning Continuity Plan
Since the provincial government's announcement to close all schools to students in K - Gr. 12, Rocky View Schools has been working to develop a learning continuity plan for its families.
Think Parks, Not Playgrounds!
Effective immediately, Rocky View Schools’ playground structures are closed to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
March 20, 2020 Learning Continuity Plan Update
Earlier today, the Honourable Education Minister Adrianna LaGrange announced Alberta Education’s expectations for continuing student learning while in-school classes are canceled due to the current health emergency.

March 16, 2020 School Closure Update
As you are aware, public schools across Alberta have been closed to students until further notice as directed by Alberta Health Services’ (AHS) Chief Medical Officer of Health on March 15, 2020.
March 15, 2020, Schools Closed to Students
Effective March 16, 2020, schools will be closed to students until further notice. This directive was set by Dr. Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, at approximately 4:30 today due to the detection of community transmission of COVID-19. Staff is expected to report to their school to prepare for the weeks ahead.
March 13, 2020, COVID-19 Update
As circumstances and Alberta Health Services decisions surrounding COVID-19 continue to evolve, Rocky View Schools is working diligently to respond to events as they unfold.
March 13, 2020 AHS Update
At 4 pm this afternoon, Alberta Health Services (AHS) invited RVS and school boards to a telephone town hall meeting Saturday, March 14, 2020 to discuss its advice to keeping schools safe for students. In her address, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, AHS chief medical officer of health, is not recommending school closures at this time.
March 12, 2020, COVID-19/School Field Trips Update
Rocky View Schools continues to make the health and safety of all stakeholders a top priority and as such, it has made decisions involving field trips and implemented protocols to focus on containment of COVID-19 and keeping its communities safe.
Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
Today, Rocky View Schools (RVS) sent out an important parent memorandum from Alberta Health (AH) regarding the Coronavirus. As is the official protocol, RVS will take its direction from AH in protecting the health and safety of our communities.
