Parent Masterclass: How Gaming and Social Media Are Designed to Keep Your Teenagers Hooked Monday, September 30, 7-9pm, at the Cochrane RancheHouse Theatre. Cost: $10/person. Parents, Professionals, and Teachers are invited to hear TEDx speaker, Cam Adair, share his experience with video gaming addiction. You will learn; how video games are designed to keep teenagers hooked, the emotional needs gaming fulfills, how to assess at-risk teenagers, effective communication to build rapport around gaming and key steps to recovery. Understanding Childhood Stress & Anxiety
When: October 8, 2019, 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Sign in at 6:15 pm. Where: Windsong Heights School. Cost: Free. A discussion on anxiety and stress in children; what it is, what it may look like and how you can help your child. How to use strategies such as mindfulness and relaxation with your child as well as resources that can support caregivers and their children.
