Rocky View Schools Travel Update

Amid the rapidly changing global situation involving novel Coronovirus (COVID-19), the jurisdiction would like to reassure parents that it is committed to the safety of its staff and students and is continually monitoring the situation.

Putting Staff and Students First

Today, Rocky View Schools' (RVS) Superintendent of Schools Greg Luterbach released a parent letter with updates related to planned school trips, both within and outside of North America. Based on the current situation, RVS has made the decision to cancel Bow Valley High School's international excursion to Cambodia, which was scheduled for early April. At this time, no trips within North America have been cancelled but this may change based on information that becomes available over time. Any changes to travel will immediately be communicated to impacted families.

Superintendent Luterbach stated, "While we support the educational value of international travel, at the forefront of this decision was the safety of our students and our staff. We acknowledge the challenges that may arise as a result of this decision and will work with the school community to minimize the impact on students and their families."

Parents are asked to contact their school's principal for additional information.
