Healthy Minds/Healthy Children Outreach Services

About the organization

Healthy Minds/Healthy Children Outreach Services (HM/HC) provides clinical consultation and education to professionals who work with child and adolescents with addiction and mental health issues. Comprised of a team of psychologists, clinical social workers, and child psychiatrists, HM/HC offers consultation services to professionals, as well as accredited online learning opportunities designed to help build capacity. Additional services include:

  • Consultation (in-office, telephone, video conference/telehealth) to primary care physicians and clinicians;
  • Case or theme-based in-servicing or presentations on selected topics;
  • Internet-based professional development modules in children’s mental health;
  • Practitioners’ Desk Reference to aid in efficient identification and management of children’s mental health concerns; and
  • Information prescriptions on various topics in children’s mental health that practitioners can provide to their patients and clients.

Who can access these services?

Services are accessible to any professional who works with children and/or teenagers who may have mental health or behavioural issues including, teachers, family school liaison workers, teacher’s aides, school administrators, psychologists, doctors, nurses, behaviour health consultants, therapists, child and family services’ workers, daycare workers, first responders, and community agency workers.

How do you access services?

Professionals can access services directly through HM/HC. Parents/caregivers looking to access HM/HC’s support must request that their child’s teacher, doctor, social worker, or daycare provider contact HM/HC for a consultation.
