Today’s Kindergarten to Grade 12 educators are charged with the responsibility of ensuring students become critical, creative, and complex thinkers, with the ability to manage knowledge, sustain the planet, and prepare for jobs that continually evolve into something new. Our Board believes the key to success is good instructional practices, founded on balancing the development of strong literacy and numeracy skills with 21st Century competencies. Since the introduction and approval of RVS’ 2015–2019 Four Year Plan in February 2015, our jurisdiction has spent the last year and a half defining learning frameworks, supports, and resources that will enable our staff to prepare students for their future.

As presented in our 2015-2019 Four Year Plan, we are pleased to outline a continuation of this journey to our communities. Over the course of the 2016/17 school year we will be steadfast in our commitment of ensuring all learners are successful, engaged, and supported. We invite you to join us on this journey by reading through RVS' digital 2015 - 2019 Four Year Plan - Year Two. An abbreviated, paper version of the plan will be distributed to school councils, staff, and educational and municipal partners in the fall. This print version also will be available through RVS’ Education Centre at 2651 Chinook Winds Drive, SW, Airdrie.
