Learning Supports

RVS students are supported in a variety of ways to reach their full potential as learners and to flourish academically, socially and emotionally. Our team of Learning Support Specialists work with school staff to provide the support, services and programming students and teachers need.

These learning specialists, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, psychologists, positive behaviour coaches and Indigenous support workers play an integral role in collaborating with school staff to support students with learning, social/emotional, sensory, behavioural, physical, cognitive, adaptive, communication and health care needs.

RVS schools follow a model of inclusive education. We design and develop our schools, classrooms and programs so all children learn and participate together.

This means all students attend neighborhood schools in age-appropriate classrooms. Students receive programming appropriate to their strengths and goals, and parents/guardians and students are part of the planning process. Students have equitable opportunity to be included in the typical learning environment or program of choice.
