Bursary Opportunity
Alberta High School graduates are invited to take advantage of the opportunity to apply for an I.O.D.E. Alberta Provincial Coronation Bursary in the amount of $1000, with at least two awards handed out each year. This bursary is available to all graduates planning to attend post-secondary education for any degree-granting institution in Alberta.

French Bursary Available
French Immersion teachers will want to note that bursaries to pursue professional learning in French are accessible through the Official Languages in Education Programs of Alberta Education. Each bursary will assist teachers in defraying the costs of tuition fees and travel associated with courses and conferences offered in Canada. The maximum amount of the bursary is $2,200 annually. Bursaries will be awarded on a first-come, first­-served basis.
Making Treaty 7 - Matinee Invite
Plan on your Gr. 7 - 12 students attending "Making Treaty 7", Nov. 14 or 15, 2017, for a groundbreaking theatrical presentation that explores the historical significance of the Blackfoot Crossing in 1877. Applications are due May 31!

Partner Research in Schools Conference 2017
August 24 & 25, 2017 at the University of Calgary. Partner research in schools is a visionary approach that invites collaboration between schools, school authorities, communities, and university to build research capacity, provide opportunities for classroom and pre-service teachers to work with universities on research, and creates the condition for more sharing across systems. Alberta Health Services is pleased to offer these engaging and interactive workshops for teachers, administrators and school staff for the upcoming school year. All workshops are facilitated by a Health Promotion Coordinator or Public Health Dietitian dedicated to promoting health and wellness in school communities.
2017 Enbridge Famous 5 History Award
The purpose of the Enbridge Famous 5 Youth Leadership Award is to identify young people who are working to make a difference in our society, and reward their hard work. Applicants must demonstrate leadership and ingenuity as trailblazers undertaking community initiatives that have measurable results. Five applicants will each be awarded a cheque in the amount of $1000. Open to students in grades 4-9 Deadline for submissions is May 31, 2017
Calgary Regional Summer Band Program
Our Summer Band Program is fun-filled and designed to challenge students from Grade 5 to adult. Whether you are a beginner or at an advanced level, you will develop your musical talents. We create fun and inspiring learning environments to grow your musical talents and make new friends. K-12 Classroom Teachers Supporting Complex Students are encouraged to attend. Working individually is often how many people see the value of LEGO®. LEGO®-also has an inherent and rewarding way of bringing people together. In this session you will learn how the work of LEGO®-Based therapy, Dr. Eric Carter, and, in particular, the work from the Peer Partner Project can be used together in a meaningful and engaging way for ALL students and ALL ages. We will dive into knowledge of belonging, access to the general curriculum, ties to STEMS, the Alberta Program of Studies, adolescent friendships and peer relationships for students with significant disabilities.
