PAT Exam Schedule
Starting in the 2017/2018 school year, grades 6 and 9 Provincial Achievement Tests will be administered to students in an administration window provided by Alberta Education rather than according to pre-set schedules.

Airdrie Public Library November events for Elementary, Middle and High School level students. Schools are encouraged to share this information to parents in their school newsletters.
Calgary Youth Science Fair
Reminder - registration deadline is Oct. 31, 2017. On April 11-14 the Calgary Youth Science Fair will host approximately 800 students from schools in and around Calgary gather to take part in Canada's largest science fair. The fair is held at the University of Calgary’s Olympic Oval and is open to students in grades 5 through 12.
O365 Training is Here!
Office 365 Training is Here! Beginning October 2, Rocky View Schools will launch an Office 365 (O365) training program for all Education Centre staff. Running Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the Wolf Room, training will focus on building staff skills in the online environment, as this is the platform RVS’ new staff web portal is built on. Training for SharePoint Power Users and for desktop applications, such as Outlook, will be announced in November.
Ingenium - Free Science Curriculum Resources
Ingenium – Canada’s Museums of Science and Innovation is pleased to announce this year’s Educational Programs. These Educational Programs allow students to explore a range of amazing programming and digital content on the theme of human ingenuity. Programs link directly to Ontario and Quebec curricula, but can be adapted to reach the science curriculum of most provinces and territories.

Grade 9 - Space Exploration at the Rothney Observatory
October 24th, 2017, Alberta Science Network is offering a unique professional development opportunity for Gr. 9 Science Teachers! Tickets are $50. The workshop will be hosted by Don Hladiuk and RVS' own, Brian Jackson. Together, these presenters are a wealth of knowledge and will help you build confidence in covering key curriculum objectives from this unit. This Guide to Remembrance has been created by the Royal Canadian Legion to assist primary and secondary school teachers to foster the tradition of Remembrance amongst Canada’s youth. ​There are dedicated activities for school including the national literary and poster contests can be found on pages 42 to 49.
