Kananaskis Region Summer Education Workshop
A Changing Climate: An Inquiry in Alberta Parks participants will be engaged in a variety of cross-curricular activities, games and stories that will provoke, build knowledge and support active citizenship and stewardship in you and the students you work with. Please Note: We will walk approximately 6 km on the Ribbon Creek/Coal Mine trail which has 200 m elevation gain with some short uneven and steep sections. Microsoft Summer School Program
Microsoft Summer School is a 5-week online professional development program, designed to help you learn more about using free Microsoft tools in your classroom.
Math Bursary Program
The Math Bursary Program is a new bursary for pre-service and in-service teachers. The goal of the bursary is to provide funding to encourage eligible current and future Alberta K-12 teachers to take a qualifying math pedagogy course. Bursaries in the amount of $1,000 are available to applicants who meet the eligibility criteria. Details and application forms can be found at this link.
Beware of Phishing Emails
Periodically, RVS sees an influx of emails that appear legitimate from well-known organizations like Apple, Banking Institutions, and Couriers for example. It is imperative to be aware of where these emails are coming from and to take precautions to ensure they are not fraudulent.

Bursary Opportunity
Alberta High School graduates are invited to take advantage of the opportunity to apply for an I.O.D.E. Alberta Provincial Coronation Bursary in the amount of $1000, with at least two awards handed out each year. This bursary is available to all graduates planning to attend post-secondary education for any degree-granting institution in Alberta.

French Bursary Available
French Immersion teachers will want to note that bursaries to pursue professional learning in French are accessible through the Official Languages in Education Programs of Alberta Education. Each bursary will assist teachers in defraying the costs of tuition fees and travel associated with courses and conferences offered in Canada. The maximum amount of the bursary is $2,200 annually. Bursaries will be awarded on a first-come, first­-served basis.

Partner Research in Schools Conference 2017
August 24 & 25, 2017 at the University of Calgary. Partner research in schools is a visionary approach that invites collaboration between schools, school authorities, communities, and university to build research capacity, provide opportunities for classroom and pre-service teachers to work with universities on research, and creates the condition for more sharing across systems.
