Ingenium - Free Science Curriculum Resources

Ingenium – Canada’s Museums of Science and Innovation is pleased to announce this year’s Educational Programs. These Educational Programs allow students to explore a range of amazing programming and digital content on the theme of human ingenuity. Programs link directly to Ontario and Quebec curricula, but can be adapted to reach the science curriculum of most provinces and territories.

Canada Agriculture and Food Museum:

This farm in the heart of the city offers programs and exhibitions on Canada’s agricultural heritage, food literacy, and the benefits of agricultural science and technology to Canadians’ everyday lives. Aligning with Health and Physical Education curriculum as well as English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, and Social Studies, Healthy Kids Quest is an example of one such program that encourages and empowers students to make healthy lifestyle choices while meeting cross-curricular requirements for grades 1 to 3.

Canada Aviation and Space Museum:

Consisting of more than 130 aircraft and artifacts as well as fascinating space artifacts, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum’s curriculum based tours and programs are hands-on and designed to maximize students’ opportunities to explore, experiment, observe, assess, and discuss their findings.

Canada Science and Technology Museum:

The renewed, modern museum, set to open November 17, 2017, will offer a full immersive experience, including redesigned exhibits, a demo stage, and more artifacts on view than ever before. All new, engaging, hands-on, inquiry-based school programs will be available for booking starting in winter 2018. 

Let’s Talk Energy:

Ingenium’s national energy literacy initiative, aims to promote an informed discussion on energy and climate with all Canadians. In partnership with Canadian Geographic, Let’s Talk Energy has created two free climate change units for middle years to high school touching on themes of climate change and biodiversity, the environment, the economy, and health and urban life. In addition to these awesome online resources, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum is proud to offer this year’s free Education Poster. The theme, Space Careers, introduces students to four of the many different careers that make up the aerospace sector.
