Successfully Building Community at the Clipper Café

Three Muriel Clayton Middle School teachers were recognized by the Board for transforming their school's breakfast club program into Clipper Café, a calm gathering space for students to connect, while having access to nutritious breakfast foods.

Promoting Positive Student Interactions and Healthy Eating Habits

Trustees applauded Muriel Clayton Middle School teachers Emily Larocque, Kendahl Champagne and Erin Hymas for transforming their school's breakfast club program into Clipper Café, a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for students to interact, while eating a nutritious breakfast. Open daily to all students, the café serves up fresh fruit, eggs, French toast and yogurt parfaits, all homemade or using little to no packaging! Special thanks goes out to Iron Horse Park for their generous donation, allowing the program to run for its second year.
