Christmas Card Contest 2017

Can it really be that time of year already? The freshly fallen snow certainly is a reminder that the yuletide season is just around the corner and soon it will be time to deck the halls with boughs of holly and join in a chorus of “Fa, la, la, la, la!”

As in years past, RVS’ Superintendent and Board of Trustees would like their season’s greetings to once again feature student artwork from RVS’ annual Christmas Card Contest. This year’s theme “Tis The Season To Be Jolly” invites students in Kindergarten to Grade 9 to submit artwork that depicts what a “jolly” holiday season looks like for them! Artwork can be pencil, crayon, pastel, paint, or digitally-generated, and must be submitted on 8.5 x 11” paper, with the student’s full name, age, grade, and name of school clearly indicated on the back. Two winners will be selected, one from the Elementary level and one from the Middle School level, with the original artwork used to create digital greeting cards.

Entries can be sent to Lorna Reynolds in the Communications Department via the interoffice blue box system, or dropped off at the Education Centre, 2651 Chinook Winds Drive SW, Airdrie. Deadline is Dec. 8, 2017.

A PDF of the contest details can be downloaded for display on school bulletin boards and in classrooms, in letter size (8.5 x 11") or poster size (11 x 17").
