Food Programs

Food For Thought

RVS recognizes the importance of daily nutrition and believes healthy eating is a key component in educational success. Food For Thought is a program that partners RVS with local groups to promote healthy eating and provide nutritious food items for students every day, following Alberta Health Service's (AHS) healthy eating guidelines. Food support varies from school to school. Funding is provided through grants, donations and in-kind services from national, provincial and local groups.

Volunteers are crucial in supporting Food For Thought. If you are interested in volunteering at one of our schools, please visit Volunteers & Visitors and speak to your school’s administrator.

We would like to thank Breakfast Clubs of Canada, President’s Choice Children’s Charity, the Provincial School Nutrition Program and various local community partners for their support of the Food For Thought program.

For more information about Food For Thought, contact RVS’ Community Partner Program Co-ordinator at 403-945-4069 or by email.
