Mechanics Training Centre

Mechanics Training Centre

RVS and Airdrie’s Cam Clark Ford partnered in 2000 to provide authentic real-world hands-on education to students interested in the trade of automotive mechanics.

To support this program, Cam Clark Ford provides a licensed Ford technician onsite most days. They also provide and maintain all major mechanical equipment located in the shop.

At the Centre, students engage in real life experiences by working on customer vehicles. Projects include but are not limited to:

  • Oil and fluid changes
  • Vehicle maintenance
  • Tire changeover and repair
  • Steering and suspension, brake maintenance and service
  • Detailing

Students also learn how a shop runs, how to treat a customer vehicle and how to expect their own vehicles to be treated when having them serviced.

Students spend half a day, every day in the shop. This dedicated time gives students an excellent opportunity to learn new skills and build on skills they already possess.

All RVS high school students are eligible to apply, and transportation is provided for students who attend an Airdrie area high school. Interested students should contact the guidance counselor at their home school.
