Water and Wastewater Impacts in Cochrane

Posted on

Rocky View Schools is aware of the state of local emergency in Cochrane and is doing our part to conserve water where possible in our Cochrane schools.

This may include measures such as postponing lessons where labs would require water (such as foods, culinary art, some arts classes), not showering after physical education classes, minimizing water usage in extra-curricular activities where possible, consideration for postponement of some activities and cancellation of community use bookings. We are also asking families visiting Cochrane for sports to bring their own water and refills. This is not a conclusive list and may include other measures.

Students and staff continue to use water in the washrooms for handwashing and flushing toilets in school as normal. Water fountains remain open for drinking water.

We appreciate this can be a stressful time and we will continue to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of our students in responding to this situation. We will monitor the situation and let you know if there are further impacts to our Cochrane schools.

Thank you for your support.
