More Than 98 Per Cent of RVS Staff Set to Fulfill AP 173 Requirements

As of Dec. 15 at 3 p.m., 98.1 per cent of Rocky View Schools (RVS) staff have provided proof of immunization through a required attestation form or indicated they will engage in rapid testing to fulfill the requirement of Administrative Procedure 173 – COVID-19 Hazard Reduction effective Jan. 3, 2022.

Of the 2,880 active employees in RVS, 2,721 (94.5 per cent of current active employees) are fully immunized and 103 (3.5 per cent of current active employees) will routinely provide a negative rapid test.

Fifteen staff holding positions (0.5 per cent of current active employees) are being placed on unpaid leave as they are not intending to comply with the requirement or have not completed the attestation. Three individuals (0.1 per cent of current active employees) have resigned. Thirty-eight substitute teachers or casual support staff (1.3 per cent of current active employees) are deactivated from working after the winter break as they have not completed their attestation or have stated they do not intend to comply.

Thank you to the vast majority of staff who have fulfilled the requirements of AP173 which was put in place in response to the government’s request of school jurisdictions and in support of our commitment to measures that reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 in our schools.
