Alberta's Relaunch Strategy Announced

Using a three-staged approach, Premier Jason Kenney announced plans to re-open businesses and services in Alberta as early as, May 4, 2020.

Government's Strategy Will See Restrictions

On April 30, 2020, the government announced its Alberta Relaunch Strategy, which will see a three-staged approach to re-opening businesses and services. The first stage will begin as early as today, May 4, 2020, and will allow some businesses and services to re-open and resume operations with two metre physical distancing requirements along with other restrictions not yet announced. The second and third phases will be implemented based on health indicators and the success of the first phase.

Following the announcement, Rocky View Schools learned, May 1, 2020, that Alberta Education will not re-open schools for the remainder of the 2019/20 school year, with re-entry plans being discussed among the ministry and boards for next year.
