Today is World Teachers' Day

Since 1994, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has celebrated World Teachers' Day. Today, let's celebrate the wonderful teachers in Rocky View Schools!

Celebrating Teachers Locally, Nationally and All Over the World

This year's World Teachers' Day (WTD) will focus on the theme Teachers: Leading in Crisis, Reimagining the Future. On Oct. 5 each year, WTD recognizes teachers' accomplishments and raises awareness around the challenges they face while working towards achieving global education targets.

The annual celebration will begin, Oct. 5, 2020, with an official Opening Ceremony and close Oct. 12, 2020. Week-long (virtual) events will take place - a summary of events can be found on UNESCO's website.

Let's take a moment to thank all Rocky View Schools teachers for their work and dedication to students' learning so that they can reach their potential.

Superintendent Greg Luterbach said, "I’m filled with pride and gratitude for our teachers' commitment, not only today, but every day. While this school year has been filled with new challenges, time and time again our teachers have demonstrated their resilience, leadership and innovation. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
