Working Together to Keep our Community and Students Safe

Rocky View Schools (RVS) has been informed that Airdrie School Resource Officer Constable (Cst.) Morley Statchuk will be reassigned to a new detachment. In response to the news, RVS' Board of Trustees took the opportunity to honour and thank Cst. Statchuk for his years of service and dedication to the jurisdiction, at its Jan. 23, 2020, meeting.

In partnership with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), RVS aims to keep its students and community safe. The jurisdiction has had the good fortune of working with Cst. Statchuk, who contributed positively to the RVS classrooms on a daily basis. He maintained a visible presence in schools across the city, while dedicating considerable time and effort helping schools and students become more effective with their response to emergency situations. Cst. Statchuk also built positive and effective relationships with students, using a one-on-one approach in talking with youth about how they could make better choices.

On behalf of RVS, thank you to Cst. Statchuk - wishing him all the best in his next assignment!
